Mon Jan 20 05:51:38 UTC 2025: ## Trump Vows Swift Action on Immigration, Pardons, and Global Issues in Victory Rally

**Washington D.C.** – President-elect Donald Trump addressed thousands of supporters at a “Make America Great Again” rally in Washington D.C. on Sunday, promising a rapid implementation of his key campaign pledges, beginning with sweeping immigration restrictions on his first day in office. The rally, held amidst freezing temperatures and inclement weather, marked Trump’s first major address in the capital since January 6, 2021.

Trump declared his intention to halt what he termed an “invasion” of the country by the end of the day Monday, vowing to address what he called America’s various crises with “historic speed and strength.” He reiterated his plan to pardon many of the individuals charged in connection with the January 6th Capitol attack. Furthermore, he pledged to overturn all executive orders issued by the Biden administration within hours of assuming office.

In a wide-ranging speech, the President-elect also promised to end the war in Ukraine, resolve the Middle East conflict, and prevent World War III, claiming the world is “closer than you know” to such a conflict. He reaffirmed his plan to launch a large-scale deportation effort, and outlined a series of executive orders targeting transgender rights, critical race theory, and the participation of transgender athletes in women’s sports. He also vowed to release files on the assassinations of John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy, and Martin Luther King Jr.

Joining Trump on stage was tech entrepreneur Elon Musk, who will reportedly lead a cost-cutting initiative within the incoming administration. Musk pledged to make America strong “for centuries,” emphasizing the importance of enacting significant changes and laying a foundation for long-term national strength. Trump praised Musk and his son, X Æ A-Xii, who also appeared on stage.

The rally showcased a return to the energetic, populist style that characterized Trump’s previous campaigns, filled with bold promises and boasts received enthusiastically by the crowd. The scale and scope of many of Trump’s promises, particularly regarding immigration and global issues, remain to be seen.
