**Miami, FL (January 16, 2025)** – Royal Caribbean International announced today the return of its Artist Discovery Program, this time to create stunning murals for its upcoming ship, *Star of the Seas*. The program, which debuted on *Icon of the Seas*, will commission emerging Caribbean artists to create large-scale artwork for prominent locations on the new vessel.
The competition is open to artists across the Caribbean, with submissions accepted from January 16th to February 15th. Selected artists will receive grants ranging from $20,000 to over $100,000 and will work on-site in Turku, Finland, where *Star of the Seas* is currently under construction. The chosen artists will create murals in high-traffic areas including the Royal Promenade, embarkation area, and Suite Sundeck Lobby.
Jay Schneider, Royal Caribbean’s Chief Product Innovation Officer, expressed excitement about the program’s return, highlighting the overwhelming response to the inaugural program on *Icon of the Seas*. He emphasized the company’s commitment to showcasing the vibrant culture and talent of the Caribbean.
*Star of the Seas*, set to debut in Port Canaveral (Orlando) in August 2025, will offer a variety of onboard experiences, including a large water park, the Lincoln Park Supper Club, and multiple themed neighborhoods. The ship will sail seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries, visiting Royal Caribbean’s Perfect Day at CocoCay in The Bahamas, as well as Cozumel, St. Maarten, and St. Kitts and Nevis.
