**NEW DELHI** – Indian Olympic javelin gold medalist Neeraj Chopra has married, the athlete announced on Instagram Sunday. Chopra shared several photos from the private ceremony, which was attended by close family and friends. One touching image shows his mother bestowing a blessing.

Chopra’s wife, Himani, is reportedly a student in the USA, according to the athlete’s uncle, who also confirmed that a reception will be held at a later date. Further details about the wedding and the couple have not been publicly released.

This personal news comes as Chopra is also busy preparing for a major professional event. He is bringing a World Athletics-endorsed Continental Tour Javelin-Only competition to India, in partnership with JSW Sports and the Athletics Federation of India.
