**Berlin, Germany** – The 75th Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale) has announced a dazzling lineup for its upcoming edition, boasting international premieres and a diverse range of films. This year’s festival will see the international premiere of Bong Joon-ho’s highly anticipated film “Mickey 17,” starring Robert Pattinson, screening as part of the Berlinale Special section.
Joining “Mickey 17” in the Berlinale Special section is the world premiere of Justin Kurzel’s series “The Narrow Road to the Deep North,” starring Jacob Elordi, and adapted from Richard Flanagan’s Booker Prize-winning novel. Benedict Cumberbatch will also grace the festival with the European premiere of Dylan Southern’s “The Thing with Feathers.”
The Berlinale Special section further showcases world premieres from Min Kyu-dong (“The Old Woman With the Knife”) and Anna Muylaert (“The Best Mother in the World”). In a significant nod to historical remembrance, the festival will host a special screening of Claude Lanzmann’s monumental Holocaust documentary “Shoah,” alongside Guillaume Ribot’s accompanying film “All I Had Was Nothingness,” which explores the making of Lanzmann’s masterpiece.
The Panorama section opens with Andreas Prochaska’s “Welcome Home Baby” and will feature 34 films from 28 countries. The Generation section, focused on youth-oriented films, will open with Brendan Canty’s “Christy” and Rafaela Camelo’s “The Nature of Invisible Things,” showcasing 18 feature films, 20 shorts, and a series.
The festival, kicking off with Tom Tykwer’s “The Light,” marks the first edition under the leadership of new artistic director Tricia Tuttle. The diverse program reflects Tuttle’s commitment to showcasing a wide range of cinematic voices and significant works.
