**SHIVAMOGGA, Karnataka, January 19, 2025** – Kalasa Sub-Inspector Nithyanand Gowda has been suspended following a complaint filed by his wife, Amitha, alleging harassment and death threats. The suspension, announced Sunday by Chikkamagaluru Superintendent of Police Vikram Amathe, comes after Amitha filed a complaint with the Kalasa police on Saturday. The complaint also implicated other members of Gowda’s family. While the wife’s allegations formed the basis of the suspension, the statement also indicated other issues related to the PSI’s performance contributed to the decision. Gowda, who has also filed a counter-complaint against his wife, has been married to Amitha for 11 years. The couple reportedly experienced marital discord in recent years.
