Sun Jan 19 15:03:40 UTC 2025: ## Kaleshwaram Project Inquiry Nears Completion

**Hyderabad, January 19, 2025** – The Justice P.C. Ghose Commission of Inquiry, investigating alleged irregularities in Telangana’s Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP), is entering its final phase. The commission, initially tasked with a three-month investigation into damages at the project’s barrages, has had its term extended multiple times and is now expected to submit its report by February 28th.

The one-man commission has already interviewed numerous engineers – both serving and retired – from various levels within the Irrigation department. It has also questioned bureaucrats from several departments and received input from individuals including Sriram Vedire (Advisor to the Union Ministry of Jal Shakti), M. Kodandaram (Telangana Jana Samithi MLC), and K. Raghu (Telangana Joint Action Committee convenor).

Justice Ghose has cautioned several engineers against providing misleading information, warning of potential criminal proceedings for non-cooperation. The final stage of the investigation is expected to include questioning key BRS government figures, such as former ministers T. Harish Rao and Eatala Rajender, and potentially former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, whose involvement in decision-making has been cited by witnesses. Further interviews with bureaucrats and engineers may follow based on information gleaned from these officials.
