Sun Jan 19 04:40:00 UTC 2025: ## Kings Look to Finish Road Trip Strong Against Kraken
**Seattle, WA – January 16, 2025** – The Los Angeles Kings conclude their five-game road trip tonight with a matchup against the Seattle Kraken at 7:05 PM PST. The Kings enter the game with a 2-2-0 record on the trip, coming off a decisive 5-1 win over the Vancouver Canucks. The Kraken, meanwhile, finished their own five-game road swing at 2-3-0.
Historically, the Kings have dominated this matchup, winning four of their last five meetings against Seattle, including a 2-1 victory on November 23rd, 2024. Kings goaltender David Rittich, who boasts a stellar 3-1-0 record, 1.97 GAA, and .923 SV% against the Kraken, is expected to start, having had seven days of rest. His strong performance against Seattle in their previous encounter, allowing only one goal on 20 shots, makes him the likely choice over Darcy Kuemper.
The Kraken pose a significant offensive threat, currently ranking third in the Pacific Division for goals scored (133). Seattle forward Shane Wright, who has gradually progressed to become a key contributor this season with 21 points (8G, 13A) in 43 games, will be a player to watch. However, Wright did not play in the last Kings-Kraken game and has a less-than-stellar record against Los Angeles in the past.
Kings captain Anze Kopitar, who had two assists in the November 23rd game and boasts impressive career numbers against the Kraken (8 points, +2 rating, 61.6% faceoff win percentage in 11 games), will be a key factor for Los Angeles.
The game will be televised on KCAL and available via live audio stream on the ESPN LA app.
