Sun Jan 19 04:28:02 UTC 2025: ## Kangana Ranaut’s “Emergency” Shows Growth on Day 2, Grossing ₹6 Crore

**Mumbai, India** – Kangana Ranaut’s directorial debut, “Emergency,” a film depicting the 1975 Indian Emergency and the role of Indira Gandhi, has shown improvement in its box office performance on its second day. While the film opened to a slow start yesterday, earning ₹2.5 crore, early estimates from Sacnilk indicate it raked in approximately ₹3.5 crore by 10:40 AM today, bringing its total gross to ₹6 crore.

This surpasses the opening day collection of Ranaut’s previous film, “Tejas,” which garnered only ₹1.25 crore. Considering “Emergency’s” reported budget of ₹25 crore, the film has already recouped over 20% of its production cost, a figure expected to rise with final day-two numbers.

The film, which stars Ranaut as Indira Gandhi alongside Shreyas Talpade as Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Anupam Kher, and Milind Soman in key roles, faced competition from the simultaneous release of “Azaad,” starring Rasha Thadani and Aman Devgan. Despite this competition, “Emergency’s” performance on day two suggests a potential upward trajectory.
