Sat Jan 18 21:43:15 UTC 2025: ## Defence Minister Rajnath Singh Attends Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj
**Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, January 19, 2025** – Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh participated in the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 in Prayagraj on Saturday. He took a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam, the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers, and performed prayers and a Ganga Aarti. Accompanied by BJP Rajya Sabha MP Sudhanshu Trivedi and other party leaders, Mr. Singh also visited several other holy sites in the area.
Describing the Maha Kumbh as a “festival of spiritual experience of Sanatan Dharma,” Mr. Singh praised the event’s ability to unite people of all backgrounds from India and abroad. He also lauded Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for the skillful organization of the “world’s largest public gathering.” Mr. Singh highlighted Prime Minister Modi’s assertion that the Maha Kumbh symbolizes India’s unity.
