**SEOUL, South Korea (January 19, 2025)** — A massive 44-vehicle pileup occurred this morning on the 자유로 highway near Gu-san IC in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. The accident, which involved trucks, buses, and passenger cars, is attributed to black ice on the road. The incident occurred around 5:15 AM. Photographs from the scene show a chaotic tangle of damaged vehicles. Freezing road conditions were also reported across Seoul earlier in the day.
