**Dubai, UAE –** India announced its 15-member squad for the upcoming Champions Trophy, notably omitting Kerala batsman Sanju Samson despite his strong recent performances. The selection committee, which met for an extended period on Saturday morning, finalized the team, with captain Rohit Sharma and selection committee chairman Ajit Agarkar jointly announcing the squad in a press conference delayed to 3 pm.
While Rishabh Pant will be the primary wicketkeeper, KL Rahul also features in the squad as a backup. Shubman Gill will serve as vice-captain. The squad also includes the return of pacer Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah.
