**New Delhi, India** – Tata Motors has reignited excitement at the Bharat Mobility Show 2025 with the unveiling of the all-electric Sierra. The iconic SUV, absent from the market since 2003, makes a triumphant return, initially as an EV with petrol and diesel variants planned for later release. A concept version was previously showcased at Auto Expo 2023.
The new Sierra EV boasts a modern twist on the classic design, transitioning from a three-door to a five-door model. Key features include a connected LED DRL strip, large alpine windows, flush door handles, and rugged alloy wheels. Inside, the SUV takes inspiration from the Tata Safari and Harrier, featuring dual 12.3-inch screens, a four-spoke steering wheel, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, and a wireless smartphone charger.
Safety is paramount, with the Sierra EV equipped with an electronic parking brake, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, multiple airbags, and an advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) suite. Two battery options are available: 45 kWh and 55 kWh, offering a claimed range of up to 550 km on a single charge. The vehicle is built on Tata’s Acti.EV platform, allowing for both all-wheel drive (AWD) and rear-wheel drive (RWD) configurations. Pricing will be revealed later this year.
The Sierra EV will compete with other electric SUVs in the Indian market, including the Tata Curvv EV, Mahindra BE 6, Mahindra XEV 9e, and BYD Atto 3. The Bharat Mobility Show also saw other notable unveilings, including the Porsche Taycan facelift, Kia EV6 facelift, and the launch of the Hyundai Creta EV. Tata Motors also debuted the production-spec electric version of its Harrier SUV.
