**Mumbai, India** – Two days after Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was attacked with a knife at his Bandra residence, Mumbai police are still searching for the assailant. While a suspect was detained on Friday and questioned at Bandra police station, police confirmed that this individual was not the attacker and has since been released.

The attacker, who remains at large, is believed to have changed his appearance to evade capture. Over 35 teams from the Mumbai Police and Crime Branch are actively searching, monitoring routes in and out of Mumbai. Two CCTV footages have emerged showing a suspect in different clothes. One footage shows the suspect fleeing the building via a fire escape after the attack. Another shows a suspect resembling the attacker at Bandra station.

Saif Ali Khan, who sustained six injuries including serious wounds to his spine and neck, underwent surgery and is now reportedly out of danger but remains under medical supervision.

While police haven’t officially confirmed the identity of the detained individual, his apprehension is considered a significant development in the investigation. Police are following leads that suggest the attacker fled Saif’s home and headed towards Bandra station immediately after the incident. Further investigation is underway to determine if the detained suspect is the attacker. Reports suggest a suspect fitting the description was seen near Bandra railway station and possibly took an early morning local train, prompting searches in Vasai and Nalasopara.

The weapon used in the attack, initially reported as a hex blade, has been confirmed to be a knife. The investigation continues.
