Sat Jan 18 18:02:35 UTC 2025: ## Pakistan Dominates Day 2 Against West Indies in Multan Test

**Multan, Pakistan:** Pakistan seized control of the first Test against the West Indies on day two, with their spin bowlers dismantling the visitors’ batting lineup and setting up a commanding lead. Noman Ali and Sajid Khan were the architects of West Indies’ downfall, sharing nine wickets between them to bowl out the tourists for a paltry 137 runs in response to Pakistan’s first innings total of 230.

The pair’s devastating spin bowling performance, on a turning pitch, left the West Indies batting order struggling throughout the day. While Pakistan’s first innings wasn’t a massive score, it proved more than enough to put them in a commanding position.

In their second innings, Pakistan reached 109 for 3 at stumps, extending their lead to 202 runs. Mohammad Masood provided an early impetus with a quickfire half-century before Pakistan lost three wickets in quick succession. However, Kamran Ghulam and Saud Shakeel steadied the ship, guiding Pakistan to a strong position at the close of play, despite bad light stopping the match 25 minutes early.

Pakistan, with seven wickets remaining, are firmly in the driver’s seat heading into day three. The West Indies face a monumental task to recover from this deficit and will need early wickets to have any chance of salvaging the match. Day three promises to be a crucial and exciting phase in the contest.
