**CHENNAI, January 19, 2025** – A Chennai couple and two other men have been arrested for allegedly creating and distributing child pornography, and for committing penetrative sexual assault on four minor girls. The case came to light when a 24-year-old advocate discovered pornographic videos on a mobile phone he was purchasing from an auto-rickshaw driver. The videos depicted the sexual abuse of minors.
Police investigation revealed that one of the victims is the 10-year-old daughter of the arrested couple. The mother allegedly filmed the sexual assaults committed by her husband, and the couple then circulated the videos for profit, claiming they needed the money to pay off debts. The father repeatedly sexually assaulted his daughter.
Three other minor girls were also identified as victims of the couple’s abuse and exploitation. All four girls received counseling and are now under the care of relatives. The arrested individuals are facing charges under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO). The All Women Police, Kotturpuram, are conducting further investigations.
