Sat Jan 18 15:16:05 UTC 2025: ## Rahul Gandhi Slams BJP, Promises Caste Census and Reservation Reform in Bihar Visit

**Patna, Bihar –** In his first Bihar visit since becoming Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi on Saturday launched a scathing attack against the BJP and RSS, accusing them of being anti-constitution and concentrating wealth in the hands of a few billionaires. Addressing Congress workers and participating in a “Save Constitution Conclave,” Gandhi pledged sweeping changes if the Congress returns to power.

Gandhi stated that the wealth of the nation is controlled by only 20-25 billionaires and criticized the BJP’s alleged attempts to undermine the Constitution. He specifically referenced RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s statement on India’s independence, calling it a rejection of Ambedkar, Buddha, and Gandhi’s ideologies. He framed the upcoming elections as a battle between the Congress’s ideology of love and the BJP’s ideology of hate.

A key promise made by Gandhi was the removal of the 50% reservation cap and the conduct of a nationwide caste census, following a previously released Bihar state caste survey which he deemed “fake”. He criticized the Bihar government’s handling of employment, agriculture, and the welfare of Dalits and Backward Classes.

Gandhi’s visit included a meeting with RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav and the inauguration of newly constructed facilities at the Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee headquarters. He also met with BPSC exam aspirants protesting an alleged paper leak. The upcoming Bihar Assembly elections (October-November) were prominently featured in his speeches, with Gandhi expressing confidence in the Congress’s ability to win.
