Sat Jan 18 12:38:12 UTC 2025: ## Bollywood Debutantes’ “Azaad” Makes Modest Box Office Showing

**Mumbai, India** – The Bollywood debut film “Azaad,” featuring Raveena Tandon’s daughter Rasha Thadani and Ajay Devgn’s nephew Aaman Devgan, opened to a modest box office performance. Early estimates suggest the film, directed by Abhishek Kapoor, earned approximately ₹1.50 crore net in India on its first day, significantly less than the projected ₹2 crore. While achieving a 15.02% Hindi occupancy rate on Friday, “Azaad” is nonetheless being touted as the biggest opener for a newcomer film since the Covid-19 pandemic.

The film, produced by RSVP Movies, also stars Ajay Devgn, Diana Penty, Mohit Malik, and Piyush Mishra. It tells the story of the bond between a young stable boy and a horse. Reviews have been mixed, with praise for certain sequences but criticism of the pacing and the debutantes’ performances. Critics noted that while both Thadani and Devgan show promise, they need further development. Malik, already established in television, received positive feedback.

Despite the less-than-stellar box office start, Thadani expressed her excitement about her acting career, stating her desire to follow in the footsteps of her mother and maternal grandfather. She also described a burgeoning friendship with co-star Devgan, forged during the film’s production. The film’s future box office performance remains to be seen.
