Thu Jan 16 20:14:53 UTC 2025: **Veteran Karun Nair Piles on the Pressure with Another Stellar Performance in Vijay Hazare Trophy**

**Nagpur, January 17** – Karun Nair continued his phenomenal run in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, smashing an unbeaten 88 in Vidarbha’s semi-final victory over Maharashtra. This is his sixth fifty-plus score in the tournament, taking his overall tally to a staggering 752 runs at an average of over 750 – the highest ever for a batter scoring more than 500 runs in the tournament’s history.

Nair’s blistering form is putting immense pressure on Indian selectors ahead of the upcoming three-match ODI series against England and the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. His five centuries in his last six List-A innings, combined with his latest impressive performance, make a compelling case for his inclusion in the national team.

His knock, alongside contributions from Dhruv Shorey (114) and Yash Rathod (116), propelled Vidarbha to a massive 380/3. With at least one more match remaining, Nair is in contention to break Narayan Jagadeesan’s record of 830 runs in a single Vijay Hazare Trophy season.
