Thu Jan 16 02:42:32 UTC 2025: ## Mandhana Blasts Fastest Indian Women’s ODI Century, Powers India to Series Win

**Rajkot, India** – Smriti Mandhana smashed the fastest century by an Indian woman in One Day International (ODI) cricket, powering India to a resounding victory over Ireland in the third ODI at the Niranjan Shah Stadium on Wednesday. Her incredible innings of 135 off 80 balls, featuring seven sixes and twelve fours, propelled India to a dominant position in the match.

Mandhana’s century, achieved in just 70 balls, eclipsed Harmanpreet Kaur’s previous record of 87 balls. This also marked her 10th ODI century, making her the first Indian woman to reach this milestone and placing her joint-third on the all-time list alongside Australia’s Tammy Beaumont.

The explosive innings wasn’t just a personal triumph; it formed part of a record-breaking 233-run opening partnership with Pratika Rawal – India’s third-highest ever in Women’s ODIs. This partnership, their fourth century stand together, highlights the potent opening combination developing for India.

Mandhana’s recent form has been exceptional. Since the start of 2024, she has amassed 996 runs in 16 ODIs, including five centuries and four half-centuries, at an average of 62.25 – the highest in the world during this period.

The win gives India an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. While Mandhana’s remarkable innings stole the show, the team’s overall performance, including the impactful opening partnership, underscores India’s strong position in women’s ODI cricket. The team made changes to their lineup, resting Saima Thakor and Priya Mishra, and bringing in Tanuja Kanwar and Minnu Mani. Ireland remained unchanged.
