**TIRUCHI, January 16, 2025** – Thousands flocked to popular picnic spots in and around Tiruchi on Thursday to celebrate “Kaanum Pongal,” the final day of the Pongal festival. Mukkombu, a few kilometers from Tiruchi, was a particularly popular destination, with families and friends enjoying the day together. The Tropical Butterfly Conservatory in Srirangam also saw a large turnout, with children enjoying the rides and green surroundings. The Kallanai dam in neighboring Thanjavur district also reported a significant increase in visitors. The festive atmosphere marked a successful conclusion to the Pongal celebrations.
