Thu Jan 16 04:23:35 UTC 2025: ## Sandman Author Neil Gaiman Denies Sexual Misconduct Allegations

**London, UK** – Acclaimed author Neil Gaiman has vehemently denied allegations of sexual misconduct levelled against him by eight women, four of whom previously made similar accusations. In a blog post titled “Breaking The Silence,” Gaiman stated he has “never engaged in non-consensual sexual activity with anyone. Ever.”

The allegations, published initially by New York Magazine and Vulture, include claims of sexual assault and inappropriate behaviour dating back several years. One allegation involves an incident with a babysitter where Gaiman is accused of inappropriate physical contact. Gaiman acknowledges past relationships mentioned in the allegations, stating that at the time, they appeared consensual based on his recollection and text messages. However, he admits to being “careless with people’s hearts and feelings” and says he could have acted better.

While Gaiman denies the most serious accusations, he accepts responsibility for any past missteps. He stated that some allegations are entirely fabricated, while others are significantly distorted. A police report filed in January 2023 related to a sexual assault allegation against Gaiman was ultimately dropped.

The allegations have already impacted several of Gaiman’s ongoing projects. Production on Disney’s adaptation of *The Graveyard Book* is paused, and Netflix has cancelled *Dead Boy Detectives*. Prime Video’s *Good Omens* season three has been shortened to a single 90-minute episode, with Gaiman no longer involved. However, Netflix’s *Sandman* season two and Prime Video’s *Anansi Boys* are still slated for release. Gaiman concludes his statement by saying he understands that not everyone will believe him and that he will strive to regain trust.
