**Mumbai, India –** Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan is undergoing surgery after being stabbed six times during a burglary attempt at his Mumbai home early this morning. The incident occurred around 2:30 AM, with Khan rushed to Lilawati Hospital between 3:00 and 3:30 AM.
According to statements released by both Khan’s team and his wife, actress Kareena Kapoor Khan’s team, a scuffle ensued between the actor and an intruder during an attempted burglary. Khan sustained multiple stab wounds to his arm. The burglar fled the scene after other occupants of the house awoke.
A First Information Report (FIR) has been filed at the Bandra Police Station, and an investigation is underway. Police are currently questioning three attendants who were on duty at the time of the incident; one of whom also reportedly sustained injuries. Authorities suspect a single intruder was involved.
While Kareena Kapoor Khan was seen dining with friends Rhea Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, and Karisma Kapoor just hours before the incident, a statement from her team confirmed the family is cooperating with the investigation and asked for privacy. They stressed that the rest of the family, including their children Taimur and Jeh, are unharmed. The family had recently returned from a New Year’s holiday in Switzerland.
