**Rockford, IL – January 17, 2025** – John Kraman, a beloved Rockford resident known for his passion for classic cars, motorcycles, and music, passed away peacefully at home on January 12, 2025, at the age of 68 following a brief illness.

Kraman’s life was a testament to his diverse talents and energetic spirit. His career journey began in auto mechanics, leading to successful stints in car and airplane sales. However, it was his role as an on-air commentator and analyst for Mecum Auctions that truly allowed him to shine. Nicknamed “The Professor” or “J.K.” in the automotive world, Kraman possessed an encyclopedic knowledge of classic cars, a passion evident from childhood.

Beyond his automotive expertise, Kraman was a skilled guitarist and frontman for several local classic rock bands, including The Fury, Angles of Attack, and Redline 7000. His multifaceted life also included racing stock cars in his youth and obtaining his pilot’s license.

Kraman is survived by his wife Christine, three children Michael, Nicole, and Valerie, his sisters Gloria, Lori, and Toni, and several grandchildren. He was predeceased by his father, mother, sister, and son Shaun.
