Thu Jan 16 02:42:35 UTC 2025: ## India Women Smash World Record, Thrash Ireland by 304 Runs in ODI Series Clincher
**Rajkot, Gujarat:** The Indian Women’s cricket team achieved a historic victory on Wednesday, crushing Ireland by a record-breaking 304 runs in the final ODI of their three-match series. India not only posted their highest ever ODI total, but also secured the largest-ever win margin in women’s ODI history.
India piled up a mammoth 435/5, their highest ever ODI score (men’s or women’s), thanks to stunning centuries from Smriti Mandhana (135 off 80 balls) and Pratibha Rawat (154 off 129 balls). Mandhana’s knock was the fastest century by an Indian woman in ODIs, surpassing Harmanpreet Kaur’s previous record. The opening partnership between Mandhana and Rawat yielded 233 runs, the third-highest opening stand for India in ODIs.
India’s 435/5 is also the fourth highest total ever in women’s ODI cricket. In response, Ireland were bowled out for 131 in 31.4 overs. While Sara Forbes (41) and Orla Prendergast (36) offered some resistance with a 64-run partnership, the Irish innings collapsed after that, losing their last seven wickets for just 31 runs.
Deepti Sharma led the Indian bowling attack with 3-27, while Tanuja Kanwar claimed two wickets. The comprehensive win secured a 3-0 series sweep for India, a strong indicator of their form ahead of the Women’s ODI World Cup later this year on home soil. The victory marks a significant milestone in Indian women’s cricket, showcasing their dominance and potential on the world stage.
