**Hyderabad, January 16, 2025** – This weekend, Hyderabad will host the annual Hyderabad Potters Market, featuring over 40 artists showcasing unique, handmade pottery. The event, spearheaded by renowned potter Vilasini Reddy, will run from January 18th to 19th at Saptaparni, Banjara Hills.
Reddy, whose own studio overflows with her creations and those of other talented potters she champions, has curated a diverse collection for this year’s market. A notable addition is the incorporation of pop art into many pieces, moving beyond traditional mugs and bowls. Participants include Manpreeth Singh Nishter (MSN Pottery), Claysutra by Carmel, Sandhya Kiran Chiluvuri, and Ashish Chowdhary, among others.
Reddy, whose own work is inspired by underwater life and incorporates elements of painting and crochet, highlights the unique beauty of handmade pottery. She notes the challenges of educating buyers about the value of handcrafted imperfections and the time-intensive processes involved. She explains that the use of superior clay and hand-crafted techniques, while resulting in higher prices compared to mass-produced items, also contribute to the unique character and durability of the pieces. Reddy believes Hyderabad is a particularly receptive market for this kind of art.
The Hyderabad Potters Market promises a vibrant display of artistic talent and a unique opportunity to acquire one-of-a-kind pottery. The market will be open from 10:30 am to 8:00 pm on both days.
