**Prayagraj, India** – The ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj continues to draw massive crowds, with over 50 million devotees having already taken a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam in the first two days of the 45-day event. Spiritual leader Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, attending his third Purna Kumbh, described the Mela as “the greatest event on the planet,” highlighting the unique aspiration for liberation (“mukti”) among the attendees. He praised the event’s focus on spiritual freedom, stating it should inspire the world. His two-day visit is part of the ongoing festival, which began January 13th and runs until February 26th.
Other spiritual leaders have also expressed awe at the event. Swami Chidanand Saraswati and Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswati from the Rishikesh-based Parmarth Niketan Ashram performed a hawan ceremony at their Kumbh Mela camp. Sadhvi Bhagawati described her participation in Tuesday’s “Amrit Snan” as a divine experience, emphasizing the event’s significance as a unifying force bringing people from diverse backgrounds together. Tuesday’s Amrit Snan alone saw 35 million devotees participate.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath extended his greetings to all participants via social media, praising the Mahakumbh as a symbol of the power and faith of Sanatan Dharma. Key bathing dates remaining in the festival include January 29th (Mauni Amavasya), February 3rd (Basant Panchami), February 12th (Maghi Purnima), and February 26th (Maha Shivaratri). The Maha Kumbh Mela is expected to continue attracting millions of devotees throughout its duration.
