**Thrissur, Kerala –** A 17-year-old boy, Ankith, died after being struck on the head with a hammer at the Government Children’s Home in Ramavarmapuram, near Thrissur, on Thursday. Police reported that a 16-year-old inmate attacked Ankith following an altercation that began the previous day. Despite being transported to a hospital, Ankith succumbed to his injuries. The incident occurred around 6:30 a.m. at the facility, which houses 25 children. Viyyur police have launched an investigation and registered a case.
