Thu Jan 16 09:30:00 UTC 2025: **Veteran Comedian Brahmanandam Explains His Movie Hiatus**
HYDERABAD, INDIA – Veteran Telugu actor Brahmanandam, known as the “Brahma” of comedy, has revealed the surprising reason behind his absence from the silver screen in recent years. In an interview promoting his upcoming film with his son, Gautam, Brahmanandam stated that his decision to reduce his film commitments wasn’t due to a lack of opportunities, but rather feedback from fellow comedians.
Brahmanandam, holder of a Guinness World Record for acting in the most films, explained that some colleagues had commented that his recent performances, while good, didn’t generate the same laughter as before. He added that he is also conscious of his age and the need to maintain a certain standard of comedic performance.
“We need to consider our age,” Brahmanandam said. “I know I’m not working with the same enthusiasm as before. To be remembered, one must sometimes cut back. It’s not that I haven’t been offered roles, but a conscious choice to be more selective.”
The actor emphasized the importance of self-reflection and continuous improvement within the industry, stating that comments like “30 years in the industry” should not become a reason for complacency. He intends to focus on roles that prioritize acting over solely comedic timing. Brahmanandam’s new film, also titled “Brahmanandam,” is expected to showcase this shift in his approach.
