Thu Jan 16 08:30:00 UTC 2025: ## Arizona Wildcats Extend Winning Streak to Seven with Dominant Victory Over Baylor
**TUCSON, Ariz.** – The Arizona Wildcats continued their impressive run, defeating the No. 25 Baylor Bears 81-70 Tuesday night, extending their winning streak to seven games. Henri Veesaar led the Wildcats with 19 points, while Jaden Bradley contributed a crucial 13 points, along with six assists and five rebounds, including a key deep three-pointer.
Arizona dominated the first half, holding Baylor to a mere 19 points – the fewest points Arizona has allowed a ranked opponent in the first half since 2009. A 15-2 run midway through the first half propelled the Wildcats to a commanding 27-point lead early in the second half.
Although Baylor mounted a strong comeback in the second half, hitting eight consecutive shots to cut the deficit, they ultimately ran out of time to overcome Arizona’s early advantage. Robert Wright III led the Bears with 16 points, and VJ Edgecome added 14. Baylor’s impressive 20-of-29 shooting performance in the second half wasn’t enough to overcome their dismal first-half showing.
The Wildcats shot 54% from the field and 7-of-14 from three-point range, showcasing their balanced offensive attack. This victory follows recent wins over then-No. 16 Cincinnati and then-No. 21 West Virginia, solidifying Arizona’s position as a force to be reckoned with in the Big 12. The Wildcats now sit at 11-5 overall and 5-0 in conference play.
Baylor, who had recently re-entered the AP Top 25, will likely see their ranking drop after this loss. They host TCU on Sunday, while Arizona faces a tough test against Texas Tech on Saturday.
