Thu Jan 16 13:51:42 UTC 2025: **Andhra Pradesh to Get New Disaster Management Campus and NDRF Headquarters**

GANNAVARAM, Andhra Pradesh – Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will jointly inaugurate the new southern campus of the National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) and the 10th Battalion headquarters of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) on January 19th. The event, scheduled for 11:30 a.m., will also include several other dignitaries.

The new facilities, located in Kondapavuluru village, Krishna district, represent a significant investment. The NDRF headquarters, built on 50 acres at a cost of ₹110 crore, boasts a training center, administrative block, staff quarters, barracks, and other essential resources. The NIDM campus, constructed on 10 acres at a cost of ₹50 crore, includes conference halls, a library, and a hostel for trainees.

The NDRF’s 10th Battalion will serve Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, and Yanam, providing rescue and rehabilitation services during emergencies. The NIDM’s new campus is established in accordance with the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act of 2014 and complements the existing campus in New Delhi. An exhibition showcasing the NDRF’s operations and equipment will be part of the inauguration ceremony. District officials have already inspected the facilities and confirmed preparations are underway.
