**Secunderabad, January 14, 2025** – The 7th annual International Kite and Sweet Festival kicked off in Secunderabad yesterday, transforming Parade Grounds into a vibrant spectacle of color, culture, and culinary delights. Hundreds attended the three-day event, enjoying a dazzling display of kites in diverse shapes and designs, alongside a tempting array of sweets from across India and beyond.
The festival featured a wide variety of traditional and innovative kites, captivating visitors of all ages. Simultaneously, the Sweet Festival showcased a diverse range of regional and international delicacies. Local vendors like Nikita, specializing in Telangana sweets, offered traditional favorites such as Minapa Sunni, Gulab Jamun, and Boorelu, while other stalls represented Bihar (Litti Chokha, Thekua, and Gujiya), Tamil Nadu (Thenkuzhal Murukku, Adhirsam, and Thattai), and even Gaza, Palestine (Basbusa and Baklava).
Despite the enthusiastic participation and vibrant atmosphere, the festival was not without its challenges. Poor mobile network connectivity hampered digital payments, causing significant frustration for both vendors and customers. Many were unable to complete transactions, impacting sales for several participants. Despite the technical difficulties, organizers and participants remain optimistic about the remaining two days of the festival.
