**Hyderabad, January 14, 2025** – The long-awaited Annadana Satram (free food service) at the Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy temple in Vemulawada is set to become a reality, announced Transport and Backward Classes Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar. The Telangana government has allocated ₹35 crore for the project, with the tender process already underway.
Minister Prabhakar, speaking alongside Chief Whip Aadi Srinivas and Whip Adluri Laxman Kumar, confirmed that a dedicated trust, the Vemulawada Rajanna Annadana Trust, has been established to ensure the continuous operation of the Annadana Satram. ₹20 crore is currently available, with plans to increase the fund to ₹100 crore through further donations from individuals and organizations. Minister Prabhakar’s family has personally contributed ₹40 lakh to the initiative, and he urged devotees to contribute through the temple’s bank account or by donating rice and vegetables.
In addition to the Annadana Satram, the temple will see improvements to devotee facilities, including a special darshan system similar to Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam, and the introduction of ‘Kode Mokku’ and Abhishekam tickets. A musical fountain featuring Lord Shiva, similar to the one at Srisailam, is also planned. The Minister and the Whips visited the temple on Monday to offer prayers.
