**Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, India** – The Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 commenced today with a massive gathering of over 4 million pilgrims at the Triveni Sangam, the sacred confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers in Prayagraj. Uttar Pradesh police have implemented comprehensive security measures, including the deployment of underwater drones capable of diving up to 100 meters and tethered drones reaching 120 meters for round-the-clock surveillance of the Sangam area. Over 2,700 AI-enabled cameras with facial recognition technology are being used at entry points, along with a team of 56 cyber warriors monitoring online threats.

To accommodate the immense influx of pilgrims, authorities have erected 150,000 tents, provided additional sanitation facilities, and installed 450,000 new electricity connections. Improved infrastructure includes the renovation of 92 roads, the construction of 30 bridges, and the installation of 800 multilingual signage. Temporary hospitals with surgical and diagnostic facilities are also available. Indian Railways has added 98 special trains to manage transportation.

A new AI-powered chatbot, “Kumbh Sah’AI’yak,” offers real-time guidance and updates to devotees in multiple languages, accessible via the official Maha Kumbh app and WhatsApp.
