**Kota, Rajasthan –** A 48-year-old delivery agent, Satyaprakash Koli, has been arrested for delivering cigarettes to underage coaching students in Kota’s Landmark City area, police announced Sunday. Koli, an employee of the quick commerce platform Blinkit, was apprehended Saturday evening while making a delivery.
The arrest follows a police crackdown on the sale and supply of cigarettes to minors by quick commerce platforms. Police had previously warned Blinkit against supplying tobacco products to underage students but allege the company continued the practice. Koli has been charged under sections of the Juvenile Justice Act and the Rajasthan Prohibition of Smoking and Non-smoker’s Health Protection Act.
Kota City SP Amrita Duhan stated that an investigation is underway to identify other Blinkit employees involved. Police intend to file a chargesheet against the company itself. Kunhadi Circle Inspector Arvind Bhardwaj indicated that the investigation will also examine Blinkit’s distribution network in other cities, citing the seriousness of supplying tobacco to minors. Evidence, including stock and supply registers, has been seized from the company’s store. Koli appeared in court Sunday and was remanded to jail.
