**Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh:** The Godavari districts of Andhra Pradesh kicked off their Sankranti celebrations with a vibrant and auspicious Bhogi festival. From 4:00 AM, residents across rural and urban areas lit bonfires, filling the streets and surrounding prominent temples like Annavaram and Vadapalli with festive cheer.

Bhogi, considered an auspicious beginning to the four-day Sankranti festival, saw widespread participation. Homes and temples alike were adorned with the celebratory flames, creating a spectacular display of light and warmth. The tradition of burning old belongings in the bonfire, followed by a cleansing bath with the warmed water, was observed with religious fervor.

The Godavari districts are renowned for their unique and grand Sankranti celebrations, attracting natives who have settled elsewhere back to their hometowns for the festivities. Families and friends gathered to partake in the festivities, with many returning to their places of work after the four-day celebration concludes.

The celebrations were particularly noteworthy at the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Vadapalli, Ambedkar Konaseema district, and the Sri Veera Venkateswara Satyanarayana Swamy Temple in Annavaram, where devotional music and traditional dances accompanied the Bhogi bonfires. Devotees offered prayers, seeking blessings for prosperity and good health in the new year.

Across Kakinada, Rajahmundry, and Amalapuram, the spirit of Bhogi was palpable, with bonfires burning brightly in every neighborhood.
