Mon Jan 13 04:23:03 UTC 2025: ## Raipur’s Prabhtej Singh Bhatia Elected as BCCI’s New Treasurer
**Mumbai, January 12:** The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has elected new office bearers ahead of IPL 2025. Devjeet Saikiya has been appointed as the new secretary, and Prabhtej Singh Bhatia from Raipur, Chhattisgarh, has been chosen as the new treasurer.
Bhatia, born in 1991, is the son of former Chhattisgarh Cricket Association president, Baldev Singh Bhatia. He holds an Economics (Finance) Honours degree from the University of Exeter, UK, and has a long association with the Chhattisgarh State Cricket Association.
Bhatia’s tenure will last until September, after which he will have to contest elections again. BCCI rules stipulate a three-year term, with the possibility of serving three consecutive terms, each separated by a three-year cooling-off period.
