**TIRUPATI, Andhra Pradesh (January 12, 2025)** – Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated a series of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Piped Natural Gas (PNG) projects across seven districts on Sunday. The initiative, spearheaded by AG&P Pratham, aims to leverage the state’s natural gas resources for domestic, industrial, and transportation needs.

The launch event in Tirupati included the inauguration of industrial PNG supplies for the district, the foundation stone laying for a City Gas Distribution (CGD) Skill Development Centre, and a Gas LCNG station in Nellore. CNG-powered vehicles for solid waste collection were also handed over to the Tirupati Municipal Commissioner.

Chief Minister Naidu emphasized Andhra Pradesh’s position as India’s second-largest natural gas producer, thanks to the Krishna-Godavari (KG) Basin. He highlighted the projects as a crucial step in utilizing this resource for economic development and promoting a net-zero economy. He also thanked a Japanese delegation for their participation, emphasizing the strong economic ties between Andhra Pradesh and Japan.

To raise awareness, Naidu flagged off a CNG vehicle rally featuring auto-rickshaws, light commercial vehicles, and two-wheelers. He also personally launched the domestic PNG network in Tiruchanur, showcasing the convenience and environmental benefits of the fuel. Several representatives from Japanese companies involved in the project were present at the event.
