**Bengaluru, January 12, 2025** – A 12-year-old boy, Bhanutej, was tragically killed and his brother injured in a hit-and-run accident in Bengaluru on Saturday night. Bhanutej, who had traveled from Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh, to study Vedas, was celebrating his birthday with his family when the accident occurred.
The brothers were returning from a birthday dinner at a relative’s house in Horamavu when a lorry struck their motorcycle from behind on Hennur Bande Main Road. Bhanutej, riding pillion, was fatally injured, while his brother Chakradhar sustained injuries and is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital.
The lorry driver fled the scene, abandoning the vehicle. Police have recovered the lorry and registered a case of causing death due to negligence and rash driving against the unidentified driver. An investigation is underway to apprehend the suspect. The family has filed a complaint.
