Hyderabad, India – Film director Trinadharao Nakkina has issued a public apology after using offensive language towards actress Anshu during a recent film shoot. The incident, which involved Nakkina using the derogatory term “sizes” to refer to Anshu, sparked outrage on social media and prompted the state Women’s Commission to launch a suo moto investigation.

Nakkina released a video statement expressing remorse, stating the comment was unintentional and made in an attempt at humor. He offered an unconditional apology, acknowledging the offense caused. Director Sandeep Kishen also shared the apology video, expressing similar sentiments and requesting an end to the controversy.

Anshu, the subject of the offensive comment, responded to the incident by downplaying the severity. She described Nakkina as a “lovely person” and stated she had worked with him for 60 days, emphasizing their positive working relationship and his respectful treatment of her. She appealed for an end to the criticism against Nakkina, highlighting his supportive role in her career comeback.

Despite Anshu’s conciliatory response, the incident has raised concerns about the treatment of women in the Telugu film industry. Calls for stricter action against such behavior continue to be made, with some questioning the efficacy of the Women’s Commission’s response.
