**GREATER NOIDA, INDIA –** A large fire, accompanied by several explosions, ripped through the Shri Banke Bihari Aromatics chemical factory in Greater Noida early Sunday morning. The blaze, which began around 3:25 am, sent employees fleeing for their lives. While no casualties have been reported, the factory sustained significant damage.
Over 20 fire tenders battled the inferno for nearly seven hours before bringing it under control. Dramatic visuals showed a massive blaze and a large plume of dark smoke billowing from the site. In addition to extinguishing the fire, police rescued approximately 25 cows housed in a nearby shed, breaching a wall to reach them.
This incident follows a separate fire earlier this week at a Noida garment store which resulted in one fatality. A 34-year-old woman died and her husband suffered severe burns in that incident. Authorities are investigating both fires.
