Sun Jan 12 12:10:18 UTC 2025: ## India Women Smash ODI Record, Rodrigues Hits Maiden Century in Dominant Win Over Ireland

**Rajkot, India:** Jemimah Rodrigues smashed her maiden One Day International (ODI) century, powering India Women to a record-breaking 370/5 against Ireland in the second ODI at Rajkot on Sunday. This score surpasses their previous highest ODI total of 358/2, set in 2017 against the same opponent, marking a significant milestone in their 47-year ODI history.

Rodrigues’ impressive 102 off 91 balls, including a celebratory mock guitar strum after reaching her century, was the highlight of a dominant batting display. She was well supported by Smriti Mandhana (73 off 54), Harleen Deol (89), and newcomer Pratika Rawal (67). The Indian innings was built on two substantial partnerships: a 156-run stand between Mandhana and Rawal, and a massive 183-run partnership between Rodrigues and Deol.

India’s aggressive batting saw them hit 44 boundaries and three sixes in their 50 overs. Captain Mandhana won the toss and opted to bat, fielding an unchanged XI. Ireland, meanwhile, made two changes to their team. This victory gives India an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series, following their six-wicket win in the opening encounter.
