Sun Jan 12 17:30:00 UTC 2025: ## “Hollywood Squares” Premiere Delayed Due to California Wildfires
**Los Angeles, CA —** CBS has postponed the premiere of its revived “Hollywood Squares” game show by one week due to the devastating wildfires currently impacting the Los Angeles area. The show, originally slated to air tonight, will now debut on Thursday, January 16th, at 8 p.m. ET.
Network executives cited the inappropriateness of airing a lighthearted celebrity game show while the region grapples with the severity of the fires and the displacement of numerous individuals, including celebrities who have lost their homes. CBS’ local station, KCBS-TV, is providing extensive wildfire coverage, and this factor also contributed to the postponement.
In place of the “Hollywood Squares” premiere, CBS will air reruns of “George and Mandy’s First Marriage” and “Ghosts” in the 8 p.m. ET time slot tonight.
The new “Hollywood Squares,” featuring Drew Barrymore as the center square and Nate Burleson as host, will move to its regular Thursday 10 p.m. time slot beginning January 29th. The show, produced by Jesse Collins Entertainment and Flower Films, retains the classic format: celebrities answer questions, and contestants determine the accuracy of their responses to win. This marks the first new iteration of the long-running game show since the 1998-2004 syndicated version hosted by Tom Bergeron.
