**Chennai, January 12, 2025** – The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT-M) buzzed with excitement this weekend as its annual cultural festival, Saarang 2025, concluded. The festival, presented by The Hindu, featured a diverse range of events under the theme “Frames and Fables.”
Highlights included a vibrant hip-hop dance competition attracting participants as young as seven, an Indie Fest showcasing student musicians and poets, and a World Fest featuring international artists like the Spanish duo Renny and Ballena. The EDM Night, headlined by Ritviz and opened by DJ Frozt, proved a major draw, keeping students dancing late into the night.
A significant portion of the festival focused on film. The “Spotlight Lectures” featured the cast and crew of the Tamil film *Bottle Radha*, with director Dinakaran Sivalingam discussing the film’s theme of alcohol addiction and the importance of unconditional love and patience in supporting those struggling with the disease. Students praised the event for humanizing the celebrities and providing insight into the filmmaking process.
