**NEW DELHI** – Superstar Ram Charan’s action-thriller “Game Changer,” released on January 10th, has taken the box office by storm. The film’s phenomenal success is not limited to India; it’s also a major hit internationally. On its opening day alone, “Game Changer” surpassed the first-day collection of Ram Charan’s previous blockbuster, “RRR,” raking in over ₹150 crore.

Trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan announced on X (formerly Twitter) that the film’s worldwide gross on its opening day reached a staggering ₹186 crore, making it the highest-grossing opening day film of 2025. A report in Times Now confirmed that “Game Changer” shattered “RRR’s” previous opening day worldwide record.

While “Game Changer” achieved a remarkable feat, it fell short of Allu Arjun’s “Pushpa 2,” which holds the record for the highest opening day collection with a worldwide gross of ₹294 crore. “RRR,” directed by S.S. Rajamouli, had earned ₹133 crore worldwide on its opening day in 2022.

Directed by S. Shankar in his Telugu debut, “Game Changer” stars Ram Charan as an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer. The multi-lingual film, released in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam, also features Kiara Advani, SJ Suryah, Jayaram, and Venela Kishore in pivotal roles. The film’s success marks a significant achievement for Ram Charan and director Shankar, who took a considerable risk with a high-budget film.
