Fri Jan 10 21:34:35 UTC 2025: ## Mandhana Makes History, Becomes Second Indian Woman to Score 4000 ODI Runs

**Rajkot, India:** Smriti Mandhana etched her name into Indian cricket history today, becoming only the second Indian woman to reach 4000 runs in One Day Internationals (ODIs). The 28-year-old achieved the milestone during the first ODI match of the India-Ireland series at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot.

Mandhana celebrated the occasion with a scintillating 41-run innings off just 29 balls, striking at 141.38 and including six boundaries and a six. Her 40th run of the innings marked the historic achievement.

Remarkably, Mandhana is also the third fastest woman in the world to reach the 4000-run mark in ODIs. She achieved this feat in 95 innings, behind only Australia’s Belinda Clark (86 innings) and Meg Lanning (89 innings).

Only two Indian women have crossed the 4000-run barrier in ODIs. Former captain Mithali Raj leads with 7805 runs, while Mandhana now holds the second position with 4001 runs at an average of 44.95 in 95 innings. This latest achievement further solidifies Mandhana’s position as one of India’s leading women cricketers.
