**Ayodhya, India** – The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust announced that the first anniversary of the Ram Mandir’s Pran Pratishtha ceremony will be celebrated on January 11, 2025, instead of the Gregorian calendar date of January 22, 2024. The shift aligns the commemoration with the Hindu lunar calendar, specifically Paush Shukla Paksha Dwadashi (Kurma Dwadashi), the auspicious 12th day of the waxing moon in the month of Paush.
The Trust will hold a series of rituals, prayers, and cultural programs from January 11th to 13th, 2025, to mark the occasion, which will be known as “Pratishtha Dwadashi.” The events aim to allow devotees and saints to honor Lord Ram and participate in the temple’s ongoing spiritual journey.
The original Pran Pratishtha ceremony, held on January 22, 2024, drew thousands of devotees and dignitaries. While the core structure was consecrated then, the entire temple complex remains under construction, with completion now expected in September 2025 (originally slated for June).
The Ram Temple’s construction follows a lengthy legal battle culminating in a Supreme Court ruling in November 2019. Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the consecration as the dawn of a new era. The temple, built in the Nagara architectural style, measures 380 feet long, 250 feet wide, and 161 feet high, featuring three floors, 392 intricately carved pillars, and 44 gates upon completion.
Ayodhya’s significance as a pilgrimage site has surged since the consecration, contributing significantly to Uttar Pradesh’s tourism boom. State tourism data reveals that Ayodhya, along with Varanasi, attracted a considerable portion of the 32.98 crore tourists who visited Uttar Pradesh during the first half of 2024.
