Sat Jan 11 16:19:21 UTC 2025: ## BJP Announces Second Wave of Delhi Assembly Candidates

**New Delhi, India –** With the Delhi Assembly elections less than a month away, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released its second list of 29 candidates, bringing the total number of announced candidates to 58 out of 70 seats. The list includes several high-profile names, signifying a strategic push by the party.

Notable additions include Kapil Mishra, a former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA and current Delhi BJP Vice President, who will contest from Karawal Nagar. This seat was vacated by sitting MLA Mohan Singh Bisht, seemingly to accommodate Mishra, who previously represented the constituency for the AAP. Also featured is Harish Khurana, son of former Delhi Chief Minister Madan Lal Khurana.

Another key contender is Karnail Singh, who will challenge AAP’s former minister Satyendar Jain in Shakur Basti. The BJP’s first list already included Parvesh Verma, son of former Delhi Chief Minister Sahib Singh Verma.

The second list also includes five women candidates, bringing the BJP’s total number of female nominees to seven. Neelam Krishan Pahalwan, a top-performing BJP councillor, will contest from Najafgarh, previously held by recent BJP entrant and former AAP minister Kailash Gahlot, who is contesting from Bijwasan.

The BJP’s announcement comes after the AAP declared candidates for all 70 seats in December and the Congress announced 47. Delhi will go to the polls on February 5th, with vote counting scheduled for February 8th.
