Fri Jan 10 20:18:46 UTC 2025: ## Williamson’s Half-Century Powers Durban Super Giants to Victory

**Durban, South Africa:** The Durban Super Giants got off to a flying start in the SA20, with a commanding victory over the Pretoria Capitals thanks to a stunning half-century by New Zealand’s Kane Williamson. Despite being overlooked in the IPL auction, Williamson showcased his class, top-scoring with a 60-run knock off 40 balls.

Durban posted a challenging 209/4, fueled by Williamson’s innings which included two sixes and three fours. He received strong support from partnerships at the top of the order. Parsons and Matthew Breetzke put on a 67-run opening stand before Breetzke’s dismissal in the seventh over. Parsons followed soon after, also falling to Muthusamy.

While early wickets hampered the run rate at one point, both Parsons (47 off 28) and Wihan Mulder (45 off 19) provided crucial contributions lower down the order. Mulder’s explosive innings featured three sixes and four fours, capitalizing on Williamson’s solid foundation. Muthuswamy took three wickets for Pretoria. The Durban Super Giants’ impressive total proved too much for the opposition.
