Thu Jan 09 16:20:02 UTC 2025: ## ISRO Successfully Arrests Drift Between SpaDeX Satellites, Docking Postponed Again

**Bengaluru, January 9, 2025** – The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) announced tonight that it has successfully arrested the unexpected drift between the two Space Docking Experiment (SpaDeX) satellites launched earlier today. The PSLV-C60 rocket successfully deployed the SpaDeX satellites and 24 other payloads into orbit from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota.

However, the planned docking maneuver, initially scheduled for January 7th and then postponed to January 9th, has been postponed again. ISRO cited a larger-than-expected drift between the spacecraft during a maneuver to reduce the distance between them to 225 meters. While the drift has now been corrected and the satellites are moving closer, ISRO has not yet announced a new date for the docking attempt. The agency stated that the spacecraft are safe and in a controlled, slow drift towards each other, aiming to reach initialization conditions by tomorrow. This marks the second postponement of the SpaDeX docking experiment.
