**New Delhi, [Date]** – The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) is inviting applications for its highly sought-after internship program, offering young Indian graduates a unique opportunity to gain firsthand experience in India’s foreign policy landscape. The six-month program, running twice yearly (April-September and October-March), accepts up to 30 interns per term, with individual placements ranging from one to three months.
Eligibility is open to Indian citizens under 25 (as of December 31 of the internship year) holding a graduate degree or in their final year of graduation where an internship is a curriculum requirement. The entirely online application process involves a preliminary screening based on academic performance, prioritizing applicants from underrepresented communities and TADP districts, followed by a video conference interview. A minimum of 30% of positions are reserved for women, and the program ensures geographical representation across 14 states and 4 Union Territories.
Selected interns will contribute to various aspects of the Ministry’s work, including research, report writing, policy analysis, and support to Indian citizens. A monthly stipend of Rs 10,000 and reimbursement for one round-trip airfare to Delhi are provided. Interns are responsible for their accommodation and meals.
The program, however, is subject to security clearances, and the MEA reserves the right to terminate internships without explanation. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply through the MEA’s dedicated internship portal. Further details regarding the application process, eligibility criteria, and program specifics can be found on the portal.
